BONNYVILLE - Two people were arrested after Bonnyville RCMP were notified about a suspicious vehicle in town.

It was just before 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1, when police received a report about a suspicious vehicle in Bonnyville's downtown area. When RCMP responded, they located the vehicle and noticed two people leaving the area.

"The police recognized the pople leaving and were able to apprehend them quickly," noted Sgt. Kim Hillier in a press release.

A 36-year-old Bonnyville woman was arrested on outstanding warrants. She was released at the scene and will appear in court at a later date.

A 30-year-old man, also from Bonnyville, was arrested for breaching release conditions.

"The male had just recently been released from serving a lengthy sentence. He was also on a release document that has been collapsed, sending him directly back to the institution that he had been serving his time in," said Hillier.

Man charged after making threats

On March 28, RCMP responded to a complaint about threatening messages.

When the members located the suspect, they found he was breaching previous release conditions. The 39-year-old Bonnyville man was charged with four counts of failing to comply with an undertaking.

He was released with a notice to appear in court.

Good Samaritan, bad luck

A resident who tried to help out a man in need found himself becoming the victim of theft.

On April 1, at 8:30 a.m., the Bonnyville RCMP received a report from a resident who had let a homeless man between the ages of 25 and 30 stay with him for a hot meal and warm bed for the night. When the complainant woke up the next morning, his cell phone and laptop were gone.

Break-in at JD Collision yard

A 43-year-old Glendon man and 24-year-old woman from Kehewin were arrested thanks to the keen eye of a local resident.

On Friday, March 3, at 8:15 a.m., the witness called RCMP to report two people exiting the locked storage yard at JD Collision through a hole in the fence. An officer attended and located the two suspects.

Both were arrested and released with notices to appear in court.

Truck theft

RCMP are on the lookout for a truck that was reported stolen from the parking lot of the Comfort Inn on March 29.

The truck is a gold-coloured 2003 Ford F350 with a red slip tank.
