BONNYVILLE RCMP REPORT: Woman arrested, charged after RCMP locate stolen trailers, firearm

BONNYVILLE - A 37-year-old Bonnyville woman was arrested and charged after police found a stolen utility trailer and holiday trailer containing a firearm on a property in town. 

Marjorie Nicholls has been charged with multiple offences after RCMP attended a residence on 41 St. on May 25. 

Officers located what was determined to be a stolen utility trailer out of Cold Lake, which the owner hadn't realized was missing. 

During a search of the stolen holiday trailer, which officers also came across during their investigation, they found a firearm. 

Nicholls was arrested and taken before a Justice of the Peace. She was released from custody on a $250 cash bail and is set to appear in court June 1. 

OHV driver operating while intoxicated

RCMP were on patrol with MD of Bonnyville peace officers on May 22 when they stopped a black Honda SXS700. 

The Off-Highway-Vehicle (OHV) operator, a 31-year-old Fort McMurray male, provided a breath sample which registered as a fail. 

He was issued roadside sanctions under the provincial legislation. 

Suspicious pick-up 

On the night of May 23, officers were notified of a suspicious silver pick-up truck pulling into the driveway of a residence on Twp. Rd. 624A near Range Rd. 453. 

The vehicle had been seen multiple times. 

When officers attended, they were unable to locate the vehicle despite multiple patrols of the area. 

Swerving, braking, and accelerating 

A 45-year-old Maskwacis woman failed a roadside screening after her vehicle was reported as accelerating, braking, and swerving on May 24. 

Police pulled over the suspect and the driver blew a fail on the roadside screening device. 

She was subject to provincial sanctions and received a $1,000 fine, an immediate roadside vehicle suspension, and vehicle seizure. 

Trailer stolen from campground

A 27-foot white 2018 Avalon Starcraft travel trailer was stolen from a campground near Goodridge. 

Officers were called on May 24 to report the theft. 

The trailer, which at the time of the theft had license plate 5PX206, is still outstanding.

Police looking for info

Bonnyville RCMP are asking for the public to aid in an ongoing investigation where two individuals in a four-door black Ford F-250 Super Duty truck with matte black coating drilled holes into the gas tank of two vehicles to steal gasoline. 

The incident was reported on May 7 when the vehicles were parked at École des Beaux-Lacs. 

A photo has been provided by RCMP of the suspects.
