A male Cold Lake resident has been arrested and charged after an individual in Swift Current, Sask., reported receiving child pornographic images from him, according to an RCMP press release.

The investigation began on Jan. 5 and resulted in the male's arrest after the Cold Lake RCMP General Investigation Section and Cold Lake Child and Family Services visited his home in connection with the allegations from Swift Current, said police. He was arrested without incident and will not be identified to protect the identity of the victim and family.

According to an RCMP press release, the accused and victim are allegedly from the same family.
