Couple charged after stolen police vehicle located north of Bonnyville

BONNYVILLE - An unmarked police vehicle stolen from Prince George, BC was located by RCMP north of Bonnyville.

On May 31, around 12:30 a.m., the Bonnyville RCMP responded to information from the public regarding a stolen unmarked police vehicle from BC that was driving in the Bonnyville area. Local officers confirmed with RCMP in Prince George that a vehicle had been stolen containing various police uniform and equipment, excluding police firearms.

Bonnyville, St. Paul, Elk Point, and Cold Lake RCMP, including Police Dog Services, conducted extensive patrols in the area. The two suspects and stolen police vehicle were located just north of Bonnyville around 5:30 a.m. The police uniform and equipment were also later recovered.

Kohl Anthony Timms, 33 of McBride, BC, has been charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, operation while prohibited, and seven counts of failing to comply with a probation order. A judicial interim release hearing was held and Timms was held in custody. He is scheduled to appear in Bonnyville court on June 2.

A 33-year-old female accomplice also faces charges of possession of a stolen vehicle. She is set to appear in Bonnyville court on Sept. 15.
