Fifteen year old dies in alleged drunk driving incident

On Saturday around 1:40 a.m. a two-car motor vehicle collision occurred on Highway 41 north of town limits. The collision resulted in the death of a 15-year-old Bonnyville female, according to a Bonnyville RCMP press release.

On Saturday around 1:40 a.m. a two-car motor vehicle collision occurred on Highway 41 north of town limits. The collision resulted in the death of a 15-year-old Bonnyville female, according to a Bonnyville RCMP press release.

Investigators believe a 2010 GMC truck travelling south on Highway 41 collided with a northbound 1996 Mercury four-door car, according to Bonnyville RCMP. The youth died of injuries from the collision.

RCMP charged the 21-year-old driver of the GMC with manslaughter, impaired driving causing death, and three additional charges. The driver was remanded in custody and will appear in court Dec. 7.

RCMP is not releasing the name of the deceased until all next of kin have been notified.
