BONNYVILLE -  Fog is being cited as a possible contributing factor of a collision that claimed the life of a Bonnyville resident June 24.

"Bonnyville RCMP, in partnership with Bonnyville Regional Fire Authority, Bonnyville EMS and MD Bonnyville Public Safety Peace Officers, responded to a serious motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 659 and Highway 657 (Murphy Road) at 6:40 a.m.

"The collision, between an SUV and a semi truck, resulted in the death of a 55-year-old Bonnyville resident. Though the incident is still under investigation, preliminary findings suggest that fog was a contributing factor to the collision," states an RCMP media release.

"The thoughts of the Alberta RCMP are with the friends and family of the deceased."
