Fort Kent man charged with sexual assault schedules trial

BONNYVILLE - Glen Bringleson, the Fort Kent man charged with sexually assaulting a Cold Lake female car dealership employee, has set his matters for trial. 

The 55-year-old appeared in Cold Lake Provincial Court in December and has scheduled his matters for a judge and jury trial on Jan. 13 at the St. Paul Court of Queen's Bench. 

It's alleged that Bringleson was charged with sexual assault, forcible confinement, unsafe storage of a firearm, and unauthorized possession of a firearm after he requested a test drive from a Cold Lake car dealership on Oct. 4, 2019. According to the victim, the female employee who accompanied Bringleson on the trip, during the course of the test drive Bringleson took her to a secluded area and sexually assaulted her.

After executing a search warrant on Bringleson's Fort Kent home, RCMP seized electronic devices.

He was released on conditions including not to attend any car dealership in Alberta, and he is prohibited from possessing a cellphone with photo/video capabilities.
