The Bonnyville Health Foundation is gearing up for its 24th annual gala slated to take place April 13 and is looking for the community’s support as it takes flight.
During its Jan. 9 meeting, MD of Bonnyville Council heard from Dawn Weber, executive director of the foundation, explained that the gala continues to be an important source of funding for the Bonnyville Health Centre. Last year’s event raised over $428,000 making it the most successful one yet.
This year’s event, titled “Flight #24: Around the World”, will see the Foundation soar to new heights in terms of making the gala the event of the season in Bonnyville.
“This year we are taking our community on a multi-cultural tour with our golden age theme of first-class world travel. Our focus will be on taking a journey through enriching cultural entertainment and cuisine from around the globe served in seven courses.”
As each course is served, through the power of technology the room will be transformed visually to arrive at a new destination.
One of the things in the pipeline this year for foundation funding is the addition of a mental health room in the emergency department, which itself is slated to undergo renovation.
Council will make a decision on funding support for this year’s gala at a future meeting.
