Another country music star is headed to Bonnyville.

The Centennial Centre announced Monday that Canadian artist Johnny Reid will perform at the centre on Sept. 24.

Reid is nominated for four Juno awards this year and swept the Canadian Country Music Association awards in 2009 by winning six.

Reid will be promoting his new alum A Place Called Love, which followed 2009's Dance With Me. His 2009 release received acclaim and was the number one Canadian country album of the year. Reid earned the distinction of being the second best-selling Canadian artist in 2009.

Tickets for Reid's show go on sale on Friday and can be purchased at C2. Organizers are expecting a sell out show.

Organizer Keith Drurie described Reid as “the man of the moment. He's certainly popular…I think that'll be the biggest show we've had here.”

Around 1,600 tickets will be available for reserved floor seating at $60, $70, and $85 in advance. Private booths with dinner for six people provided by the Weatherford Centre Ice Restaurant will also be available.

Drurie also said tickets for the May 4 Randy Travis show are close to being sold out.

“It's going to be big,” he added.

He said C2 has plans for at least a couple more big shows, but is keeping quiet on the details until they're finalized.
