Man arrested in Bonnyville after 'serious assault'

BONNYVILLE – RCMP arrested a Bonnyville man after a ‘serious assault.’

At approximately 3:30 a.m. on Oct. 3, members responded to a serious assault that occurred outside of a convenience store in Bonnyville.

The victim received emergency medical assistance and a suspect was arrested without incident shortly thereafter. Randy Harry Cardinal, 33, of Bonnyville is charged with one count of aggravated assault.

Cardinal was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Bonnyville Provincial Court on Oct. 6.  

Due to the seriousness of the investigation, Bonnyville General Investigation Section (GIS) was called in to assist.
