Bonnyville 7-Eleven employees set off their panic alarm when they saw a man in their parking lot wearing a mask and dancing.
Kyle Gilbert Nadeau, 31, was arrested by police on Aug. 5 after breaching conditions not to be at either 7-Eleven in town.
According to Crown prosecutor Jody Woligroski, when RCMP arrived they located Nadeau intoxicated and dancing in the parking lot of the store, wearing a black mask.
"I was just having fun dancing around," Nadeau told Honourable Judge Kathleen Williams during his court appearance on Tuesday, Aug. 20.
Acting duty counsel Hart Spencer said Nadeau's behaviour could have been misinterpreted by staff as unusual or alarming, however, he never caused an issue inside of the store.
Williams described Nadeau's actions as "a nuisance offence," and agreed to the 24-day joint submission.
After serving 16 actual days in custody, which works out to 24 days enhanced, Nadeau was granted time-served and was released from the Edmonton Remand Centre.
