BONNYVILLE - Ahead of Dec. 25, Bonnyville RCMP members were busy keeping a few mischievous elves out of trouble.
Staff Sgt. Sarah Parke, along with some help, was busy returning elves to their rightful homes after some mischievous shenanigans in the community. The elves were expected to return to the North Pole by Dec. 25.
Earlier this month, Bonnyville RCMP put out a call to families in the area who have an Elf on a Shelf. The holiday community engagement initiative was very well received.
“The Elf on the Shelf RCMP initiative was put together last minute just to have some fun with some young families, and it couldn’t have turned out any better," says Parke. "There were a variety of reactions from kids when they saw their elf in the backseat of a police car and in the end, every elf delivery was successful in spreading a little extra Christmas cheer this holiday season. I think Sgt. MacFarland and I had as much, if not more, fun than the kids during this initiative."
