BONNYVILLE - An impressive 1,6450 lbs of food and over $900 in grocery gift cards were collected during the Dec. 15 annual Pack the Police Car event in Bonnyville.
RCMP members, staff from the detachment and Victim Services staff held the event at the Bonnyville Sobey's grocery store.
“I am overwhelmed yet again by our community’s generosity. With the rise in cost of groceries it’s been amazing to see the outpouring of support for our local food banks," said Detachment Commander S/Sgt. Sarah Parke. The collected food and gift cards will be donated to local food banks.
