Outdoor Remembrance Day ceremony observed in Bonnyville

The Bonnyville Royal Canadian Legion Branch 183 hosted an outdoor Remembrance Day service on Nov. 11.

BONNYVILLE - A crowd formed on the street in front of the Bonnyville Royal Canadian Legion Branch 183 to remember and honour the sacrifices made by Canada's veterans.

Held outdoors once again, the local branch hosted a Remembrance Day ceremony where community members, first responders and municipal officials stood for a moment of silence, laid wreaths, and heard the Last Post performed.

The ceremony also accompanied by musical performances from the Bonnyville Society Singers. The choir performed O' Canada, "Let there be Peace on Earth," and "God save the King."

Following the formal ceremony, the Bonnyville Legion opened its doors to the community and served warm refreshments and lunch.
