Semi truck runs stop sign at LaCorey, causes collision

The driver of a semi truck loaded with vegetables drove through a stop sign at the intersection of Highways 55 and 41 in LaCorey and rear-ended a flat deck trailer without a load at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The vegetable truck suffered heavy damages, though no one was injured, and traffic was held up for about an hour while the vehicles were removed from the highway.

The driver of the vegetable truck was charged with failing to stop at a stop sign, which falls under the provincial Traffic Safety Act, and has a penalty of $287 and four demerit points.
