BONNYVILLE – While on patrol on Bonnyville’s main street, a Bonnyville RCMP member spotted a vehicle they believed to have been involved in a criminal incident that took place the day before in Cold Lake.

The RCMP member observed a blue Jeep Renegade SUV being driven by a woman travelling with three passengers on 50th Avenue around 4 p.m. on June 6, according to information provided by RCMP.

A check of the vehicle revealed that it had been reported stolen.

“Upon closer inspection, the Jeep was originally orange when it had been stolen but the culprit had spray painted it blue,” says RCMP.

The officer arrested the driver Jennifer Fiddler, a 44-year-old resident of Cold Lake.

Police then searched the vehicle and allegedly found methamphetamine, two loaded needles, a baton and bear spray. Police did not indicate what substance the needles may have contained.

Fiddler was on a release document from a previous arrest that included conditions to not be in possession of any weapons and to not be inside a motor vehicle without the registered owner.

She is charged with two counts of failing to comply with release conditions, driving while suspended, carrying a concealed weapon, carrying a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of stolen property over $5,000, and possession of methamphetamine.

Following a bail hearing Fiddler was remanded into custody. Her first appearance is set for June 12.
