The Bonnyville General Investigation Section arrested a female that was wanted on a warrant for the trafficking of cocaine
RCMP REPORT

BONNYVILLE- A suspected drug trafficker was arrested by the Bonnyville General Investigation Section (VSI).

On March 8, Bonnyville GIS members performed a traffic stop outside of town and arrested a woman who was wanted on a warrant for trafficking cocaine. Subsequent to the arrest, a substance suspected to be methamphetamine was also located.

Naomi Dawn Kells, 30, of Bonnyville is charged with two counts of trafficking cocaine and one count of possession of methamphetamine.

Kells has been released to appear in Bonnyville Provincial Court on April 6.

“The Bonnyville GSI remains committed to its primary mandate of combating drug trafficking in and around the town of Bonnyville. Drug Trafficking is not a victimless crime, as many property and person's crimes are tied to drug use and abuse in some way. By focusing our attention on those who chose to engage in the drug trade, our intended outcome is to reduce the overall harm that drugs have on the community,” said Cpl. Chad McRae, Non-Commissioned officer in Charge of the Bonnyville GIS.
