The Hive welcomes any kind of formal grad wear for donations.

BONNYVILLE - The Hive, a youth health and social services organization, is launching a grad donation drive for the second year in a row to support high school students who cannot afford grad clothes.

“The youth requested we do some sort of a vendor initiative like this, to support those in the community that can't afford to get suits or dresses,” says Hive youth coordinator Brittany Yuzicapi-Langer.

A seamstress will also be able to provide free tailoring ensuring graduating students can look their best. Youth in need can get dresses, suits, shoes, and jewelry for free. Donations of any kind of formal wear are welcome.

Yuzicapi-Langer says 70 items of clothing were donated for last year’s drive.

The Hive opened in June 2021, and has programming supporting emotional, spiritual, intellectual, occupational, physical, and social wellness for youth ages 14-21.

“Everything that we do with The Hive is always free for the youth. We're able to give them things that they need. If a youth comes in and needs winter clothes, we can give them that. We try and find different ways that we can help,” says Yuzicapi-Langer.

The Hive still needs to finalize exact dates for the grad clothing drive.
