Court Report 3

A 39-year-old father of two will spend 30 days behind bars as a result of his crimes.

Lukas Anthony Nord appeared in the Bonnyville Provincial Courthouse Nov. 19 where he pleaded guilty to possession of stolen property under $5,000 and failing to comply with probation.

Nord is currently serving his time at the Edmonton Remand Centre, and was in court via CCTV.

According to Crown prosecutor Terry Mazerolle, Nord was charged after Bonnyville RCMP received a complaint on June 15 at 9 p.m. about suspicious people at the Glendon Hotel.

Police conducted a traffic stop on the car, which was being driven by Nord. Further investigation revealed it had been reported stolen out of Calgary.

Honourable Judge Kathleen Williams agreed with the joint submission for one-month in custody.

As of his appearance in court, Nord had served six days of his 30-day sentence.
