Town of Bonnyville acknowledges longstanding employees

The Town of Bonnyville awarded their longstanding employees with service awards on Dec. 12.

BONNYVILLE - The Town of Bonnyville awarded their longstanding employees with service awards on Dec. 12. Employees are presented with service awards for every five years of service ranging from five to 35 years. 

Glen Hassan has been an employee of the Town of Bonnyville since 1988. Beginning as labourer, Hassan rose through the ranks and eventually became a transportation supervisor in 2014. 

According to information from the Town of Bonnyville, Hassan brings a wealth of knowledge in experience to public works and has a knack for finding innovative solutions with issues facing the Town. 

10-year awards 

Brett Brochu 

Brochu works in the utilities department. According to the Town of Bonnyville, while he is very busy during construction season, he still finds time to throw on a dinosaur suit when visiting schools. 

Ashleigh Runge 

Ashleigh joined the Town in 2011 becoming the full-time finance officer in 2012. She also handles HR responsibilities and does bylaw support. 

Annie Jackson 

Annie joined in 2012 as an administrative support person for payables and receivables. Some of the events she’s volunteered for include Canada Day face-painting and Festival of Tree ticket sales. During the 2015 Fort McMurray wildfires, she helped with accounting tasks. Recently, Jackson has switched to the utilities department, where she provides administrative support. 

Lorna Wagner 

Lorna joined the team in 2013 initially as a temporary employee but soon became full-time. According to the Town of Bonnyville, she has been an asset providing support and assistance wherever it’s been needed as the documents manager. 

Five-year awards were also handed out to Lindsay Folkens, Emile Robert and Roy Tucker.
