Residents within the Village of Glendon will be headed to the polls today for their second by-election this term.

After the passing of former Coun. Scott Lundgren in June, village council announced a by-election would take place to fill his vacant position, with three candidates putting their names forward.

From 10 a.m. until 8 p.m., voters can cast their ballots at the Glendon Fire Hall for either Roger Belknap, Randy Harrop, or Edward Kryzanowski.

In order to vote, residents must provided a valid piece of identification. If their ID doesn’t show they reside in Glendon, returning officer for the village, Crystal Hofer, said they can also bring a piece of mail, such as a utility bill, as proof of address along with photo ID.

She encourages residents to get out and vote “so they can have a say and have their voices heard.”

“They’re voting for who they want to represent them on the village council,” expressed Hofer. “That’s who they’re hoping will be able to speak up for all of those who aren’t on council.”

Village CAO Melody Kwiatkowski agreed with Hofer in suggesting villagers take the time to vote Sept. 17.
