Bonnyville RCMP are seekng the public’s assistance identifying two suspects responsible for the theft of items and cash from the Dove Centre. On Sept. 4, at about 11:30 p.m., local officers responded to an intrusion alarm at the centre.

The MD of Bonnyville is mapping out the future of recreation, and they want your input. As part of the municipality’s recreational needs assessment, the MD will be hosting two open houses.

Luc Mercier is ready to take the reins as the MD of Bonnyville’s new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). For 28 years, Mercier has been working for municipalities across Alberta.

The Bonnyville Bingo Association is asking for help finding a new home. Representatives from the group appeared in front of the Town of Bonnyville council during their regular meeting on Tuesday, Aug.

The final increase for the minimum wage is just around the corner, and local businesses are doing what they can to prepare. Alberta’s current minimum wage is $13.60, with the province’s final jump to $15 per hour taking effect Oct. 1.

Lorne Charland will remain behind bars, at least for now. On Tuesday, Sept. 4, Charland appeared in the Bonnyville Provincial Courthouse to discuss the possibility of bail.

Arlene Hrynyk will be spending another school year in the head chair. During the Northern Lights Public Schools (NLPS) board meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 8, Hrynyk was re-elected as chair of the board of trustees.
