COLD LAKE - City of Cold Lake council voted to approve entering a team into the 2025 Ronald McDonald House Lakeland Charity Golf Classic, an annual fundraiser that supports families relying on the services of Ronald McDonald House Charities.

The decision to participate was made at the May 13 regular council meeting.

The tournament will take place on June 14, at the Cold Lake Golf & Winter Club. The City will cover the $600 team entry fee using funds from Council Goodwill.

Mayor Craig Copeland brought the motion forward during the meeting, emphasizing the city's ongoing support for the cause.

“We typically go in this one every year," said Copeland.

The Ronald McDonald House Lakeland Charity Golf Classic raises funds to help families stay close to their sick or injured children who are receiving medical care in Edmonton, offering accommodations, meals, and support during a critical time in their lives, according to the RMHC website.

Council unanimously supported the recommended action to register a team and continue participating in the event.
