Over $60,000 of stolen items recovered following joint RCMP operation

BONNYVILLE - A joint RCMP operation between the Bonnyville and Cold Lake RCMP and General Investigative Sections (GIS) resulted in locating over $60,000 worth of stolen items.

Bonnyville RCMP received information from the public on Feb. 12, relating to stolen items on a rural MD of Bonnyville property.

Local RCMP and GIS conducted a search warrant at 3:30 p.m. that day and recovered two stolen skidoos, a custom utility trailer, and two Ford F250 trucks.

A 26-year-old Cold Lake female was arrested without incident and two additional suspects, one of which can't be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, were apprehended at a later date.

The accused have been charged with five counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and were released on conditions to appear in Cold Lake court on March 25.

"One of the individuals charged as a result of this search warrant is well known to both the Bonnyville and Cold Lake detachments as they have had an negative impact on both communities with their criminal behaviour. This is just another fine example of our two Detachments working collaboratively to fight rural crime to reach a common goal that benefits both communities," Bonnyville RCMP S/Sgt. Sarah Parke stated in a release.
