A request by a retired veteran to create a veterans’ crosswalk near the cenotaph in Cold Lake was put before City of Cold Lake council on Nov. 26. 

As Cold Lake’s population is projected to nearly double over the next 25 years - from just under 15,000 to approximately 30,000 people - the city is planning ahead to accommodate this rapid growth. 

COLD LAKE – Deciding on a new name for the newly renovated North Arena in Cold Lake will take some time, after City council decided to defer the official naming for now. 

The third annual ‘Sparkle in the Park’ kicks off at the Cold Lake M.D. Campground on Sunday evening.

Police are reaching out to the public to gather information regarding a collision on Nov. 11 where a pedestrian was reportedly hit by a moving vehicle, just outside of Cold Lake.

The City of Cold Lake has affirmed its participation in the First Nation-Municipal Community Economic Development Initiative (CEDI) after approving a motion at a council meeting held on Nov. 12.

On Nov. 27, the St. Paul RCMP received a report that 36-year-old Terra Gladue hadn’t been seen or heard from since Nov. 23 in the Goodfish Lake area. There is concern for her safety and well-being.

Four independent nurse practitioners are now practicing in the Lakeland region, seeing patients in Cold Lake, Two Hills, Vegreville, and Vermilion.
