FROG LAKE - On Saturday, Frog Lake RCMP advised the public that there are two active fires on the Nation.

RCMP is assisting the Frog Lake and Elk Point Fire Departments.

"One fire is on Highway 897 at Township Road 562. Emergency personnel are asking residents to stay away from the area and there is potential for evacuations," reads information from RCMP sent to media at 3:10 p.m.

"The second is at Horse Dance Road and Hiy Hiy Road."

RCMP are asking residents in the areas to please follow directions from any first responders.

Hot, dry conditions across the Lakeland have resulted in several fire bans and fire restrictions being put in place.
