ELK POINT - Police have laid charges against four people after a suspicious vehicle appeared to be trying to elude police at 3 a.m. on April 23, near Elk Point.
Members of the Elk Point Detachment were conducting patrols near Elk Point when they noticed the vehicle, according to information released by RCMP.
"During the traffic stop it was determined that three occupants of the vehicle were breaching conditions of court orders and were arrested. While executing the arrest, members observed drug paraphernalia and suspected drugs in the vehicle. All occupants of the vehicle were subsequently arrested," according to RCMP.
Police searched the vehicle and reportedly seized "Approximately 45 grams of suspected methamphetamine, six grams of suspected cocaine, one gram of suspected heroine, a small quantity of fentanyl and other paraphernalia consistently used in drug trafficking ."
Charges
Shane Fayant, 46, of Fishing Lake, was charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking x4, and failing to comply with conditions of a release order x2.
Kezia Lewis, 39, of Onion Lake, Sask., has been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking x4.
They were taken before a Justice of the Peace and both were remanded into custody. Both are scheduled to appear in court on May 1 in St. Paul.
Eliza Lewis, 37, of Onion Lake, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking x4. Eliza was taken before a Justice of the Peace, was released on $200 bail and is scheduled to appear in court on May 22 in St. Paul.
Logan Berland, 23, of Frog Lake, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking x4.
Berland was taken before a Justice of the Peace and was released on $250 bail. Berland is also scheduled to appear in court on May 22 in St. Paul.
