DINNER THEATRE - On Nov. 29, the cast of the Elk Point Christmas Dinner Theatre was busy running through the dress rehearsal for this year's production, held at the Elk Point Allied Arts Centre. The play, 'Southern Fried Funeral' is described as a big-hearted comedy about family. Originally written by Osborne and Eppler, the Elk Point production was directed and produced by Don Conrad.
The play features a number of familiar faces, including Velma Hudson as Dorothy Frye; Barb Maile as Sammy Jo LeFette; Diana Richer as Harlene Frye; Shaun Sheplawy as Dewey Frye Jr.; Udo Mueller as Dub Frye; Randall Krys as Atticus Van Leer; Ross Krekoski as Beecham LeFette; Dixie Coleman as Martha Ann Fox; Natalie Beland as Fairy June Cooper; John Sieben as Benny Charles Greenwood; and Mabel Gottenbos as Ozella Meeks. "I would like to acknowledge the cast and crew for the countless number of hours that they have donated to make this production a reality," said Conrad, in his message from the director. The production was open to the public for showings on Nov. 23 and 24, and on Nov. 29 and 30.
