Two SUVs collide near Elk Point, leaving one woman in critical condition

ELK POINT - A 78-year-old woman was airlifted by STARS to Edmonton following a collision between two SUVs at the intersection of Highway 29 and Highway 41 in the County of St. Paul in the late afternoon of June 24.

Elk Point RCMP responded to the scene at 5:45 p.m. where a woman was found in critical condition and was taken by STARS for medical treatment. The two drivers of the vehicles and another passenger were transported to hospital by ground ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries, according to an RCMP media release.

Alcohol and drugs are not believed to be a factor in the crash and the cause is under investigation.
