Volunteers have been on Lac La Biche lake marking areas for tracks, skating rinks, roads, and gathering places, clearing snow from the lake in preparation for the upcoming Ice Festival.

Child care funding in Alberta is unsustainable without more money and flexibility from the federal government, according to Minister of Jobs, Economy, and Trade Matt Jones.

The Princess Tea has been taking place annually for over a decade. The 2025 edition of the popular community event took place on Feb. 8 and 9 at the Lakeland Agricom.

Not including the aquatic centre, Lac La Biche County spent $188,497.85 on federal fuel charges in 2024. The county reported they expect that number to increase by $37,000 in 2025 to $225,653.06.

LAC LA BICHE – A 19-year-old Kikino man is facing a slew of charges including assault and attempting to disarm a police officer during an arrest at Heart Lake First Nation on Jan. 29.

Terry ZItnak, who oversees the local scouting program, says the organization has been trying to raise its profile in the community.

The Lakeland Archers will be hosting the 3D, Field, and Target Outdoor Canadian Championships in Lac La Biche from Aug. 1-10.

The team currently hold third place in the NHJL North Division, only four points behind the second-place High Prairie Red Wings.
