Car crashes into utility pole along Hylo highway

Serious crash on Highway 663

RCMP, fire, ambulance and peace officers were called to a single vehicle rollover on Highway 663 just west of the Hylo hamlet on Friday night.

The crash, which took place at approximately 9 p.m., saw a car roll into the northbound ditch and strike a power pole. The car ended up on its roof, under the pole and just feet from a roadside dugout.

It wasn't confirmed how many occupants were in the vehicle, but ambulance crews took at least two to hospital.

Police had restricted traffic along the stretch of highway to a single lane as emergency crews were on scene. The road was opened to two-lane traffic by 10 p.m.

The POST will have updates if they are available.
