LAC LA BICHE - An online 50/50 fundraiser for the Lac La Biche Regional Humane Society has collected a prize pool of more than $6,500 in just a month — offering half of that to a lucky winner after the May 31 entry deadline.
Starting on May 1 and wrapping up May 31, the "Jack Fund 50/50" raffle was well-received by society supporters.
Named after a kitten that came to the humane society with a damaged eye that had to be surgically removed, the Jack fund is dedicated to any rescue animal in need of emergency medical care of surgery. Jack the kitten recovered from his surgery and was adopted.
More of those good-news stories are possible with the funding help, say shelter officials.

The Lac La Biche shelter is currently operating at full capacity with several cats and dogs ready to find forever homes. A full list of the available rescue adoptees can be found online.
