LAC LA BICHE – The Lac La Biche Agricultural Society hosted its annual community garage sale at the Lakeland Agricom on June 7.
Set up inside of the venue were around 19 vendors from the Lac La Biche area selling everything from housewares, tools and clothing to plants, toys, games, and electronics.
Bev Tkachuk, a member of the agricultural society, said the community garage sale is an opportunity for people to and sell their unwanted items, stuff that may otherwise find its way into local landfills.
It’s also a way for people to find some great second-hand bargains.
“Buying new is so expensive . . . if you can buy it used at a discounted price, nothing wrong with that,” Tkachuk said. “People love treasure hunting, and sometimes, you find some really cool treasures at a garage sale.”
While the garage sale is a fundraiser for the Lac La Biche Agricultural Society, it is also a community event that brings people together. The late spring sale has been taking place annually for roughly the past 13 years.
“A couple of years ago, we started doing a fall one as well,” said Tkachuk.
