Flyin' Bob teaches kids tricks of the circus

Over 40 local kids learn the skills of circus performers this past week during Flyin' Bob's Circus Camp, which took place at the Bold Center.

LAC LA BICHE - It isn’t every day when the circus comes to town, and even less so when kids are given the chance to experience firsthand what circus life is all about. Last week, 45 youngsters from the Lac La Biche area participated in Flyin’ Bob’s Circus Camp, which took place at the Bold Center.

Calgary – based showman and trainer Bob Palmer, also known as Flyin’ Bob, taught his eager students, who were between the ages of eight and 13, how to perform a variety of circus skills, including juggling, riding unicycles, walking on stilts, and a considerably scaled down and safer version of that classic circus stunt, tightrope walking.

Later in the week, after the budding circus performers had become proficient in the skills they’d learned from Flyin’ Bob, they put on a lively show for their family  and friends. Flyin’ Bob’s Circus Camp was sponsored by FCSS and Cenovus.
