LAC LA BICHE - Lac La Biche RCMP are not yet releasing the name or age of a man arrested in connection to what they say is the recent recovery of multiple stolen items, including seven vehicles and a trailer.

Police say the investigation is continuing and charges have yet to be formally made after GPS tracking on items recently reported to be stolen lead police to a residence at the Beaver Lake Cree Nation. The investigation dates back to June 16, when Lac La Biche RCMP were notified about a break-in and vehicle theft from a work site in the Bonnyville area. The initial investigation by the Bonnyville RCMP found that some of the stolen items could be tracked through GPS.

That same evening, Lac La Biche RCMP with a search warrant were at a Beaver Lake property.

Police say that stolen items were recovered from the property including, three utility trailers and the items reportedly taken from the Bonnyville work site. Also recovered in the search were seven vehicles and one trailer with altered vehicle identification numbers (VIN)

A male suspect has been arrested in relation to the investigation. Police say his name cannot be released as the investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.

"This investigation was a great example of how Alberta RCMP detachments work together to help respond to and reduce crime," said Lac La Biche RCMP Const. Cassandra Calverley.
