Lac La Biche RCMP host open house and barbecue

LAC LA BICHE - Mounties switched from cuffing burglars to cooking burgers on Thursday afternoon as the Lac La Biche RCMP hosted an open house and community barbecue at the Bold Center.

The afternoon featured displays and information tables featuring a wide range of educational and preventative programs relating to crime and law enforcement. The afternoon also highlighted some high-flying police activity with a visit by the RCMP Air Services helicopter. Police also brought a rollover simulator and offered youngsters a chance to paint an RCMP vehicle with bright watercolours.

The event is held, say local police officials, to give community members an opportunity to approach officers on a face-to-face level.
