Lac La Biche RCMP report local man charged following shooting

In court this week

A 33 year old man from the Beaver Lake Cree Nation will be in provincial court this week, facing several charges linked to an alleged shooting and vehicle theft in December.

Lac La Biche RCMP say on December 6, just after midnight, a man went to Lac La Biche's W. J. Cadzow Hospital's emergency ward with an apparent gunshot wound. RCMP were called, and the initial investigation showed the victim had sustained injuries during an alleged attempt to steal his vehicle. The victim, who police will not identify, sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries and is now recovering.

On December 28, Lac La Biche RCMP arrested a suspect at a local residence. Police say the victim and the accused know each other.

During the arrest,  Lac La Biche RCMP used a search warrant and say they located several firearms, ammunition and other weapons.

Kane Gladue, 33, is facing nine charges including discharging a firearm with intent, robbery with a firearm, and aggravated assault.
