LAC LA BICHE - As Lac La Biche Summer Days wound down on Aug. 6, the Cool Arrows - whose roster is comprised mostly of residents from the Lac La Biche region - faced off against the Saskatchewan based team MDK in the slo-pitch finals.
The game remained close throughout the seven innings of play, but in the final stretch, the Cool Arrows, who were ahead by five points, prevented their rivals from gaining any more ground, which resulted in them winning by a score of 19 – 14.
After the game, the local softball players celebrated as they were awarded with the Lac La Biche Summer Days Trophy along with $2,500 in prize money.
