Lac La Biche traffic stop nets drug bust

RCMP say money and narcotics found at weigh scale arrest, warrant issued for suspect

A Lac La Biche man is facing charges in connection to an arrest made by RCMP conducting recent traffic stops along Lakeland Drive and Highway 881.

Police say that around midnight on Tuesday, November 22, officers approached a vehicle parked near the weigh scales on Highway 881 just east of the Bold Center. RCMP report that the driver of the vehicle was in possession of an open container of what was believed to be cannabis. A search of the driver and the vehicle resulted in the alleged discovery of what police say was 34 grams of cocaine that had been divided into individual bags. Police say a "significant" amount of cash was also located.

Warrant issued

Clayton Lucier, 33, of Lac La Biche is facing charges of possession fo the purpose of trafficking, and failing to comply with release order conditions. He was released from custody with conditions to attend Lac La Biche Provincial Court on Monday,  December 5. There is now a warrant out for the arrest of Clayton Raymond Lucier.

RCMP say that since the matter is now before the courts, they will not be providing further details.
