Man drags bag down Lac La Biche railway tracks as traffic rolls by

Unusual sight on Lac La Biche train tracks

Unusual walk:  Lac La Biche POST staff snapped a few photos while they drove beside a man hauling a bag along the railway line late this morning.

Municipal peace officers were called as the man walked on the tracks from Independent Grocers to the A&W restaurant. The bag he was carrying looked heavy as he stopped several times to re-adjust the rope he was using to pull it with.

Although rail traffic has increased through the community over the last year, no trains were running as the man made his trek.

The man refused several requests for help as he crossed the 103 St. intersection, waiting for vehicles to stop as he pulled the bag across the rail crossing, and continued east along the tracks. He eventually left the tracks, but it is not known where he went.

Staff at the Lac La BIche bottle depot just south of the train tracks said no one matching his description brought in a large bag that morning. Peace officers weren't able to patrol the area while the man was on the tracks.

If anyone has any details or informaton on the well-being of the man, they could comment.
