One person has died and two more have been seriously injured after a collision this morning on Highway 881 north of Lac La Biche, according to RCMP Sgt. Henry Van Dorland.
One person has died and two more have been seriously injured after a collision this morning on Highway 881 north of Lac La Biche, according to RCMP Sgt. Henry Van Dorland.
The crash occurred early this morning north of Lac La Biche, between Imperial Mills and Heart Lake. The highway is currently closed in this location as a traffic analyst gathers more information about the collision. Van Dorland estimates the highway will likely be open again by this afternoon.
The two-vehicle collision involved a pickup truck towing a camper trailer and a tractor trailer unit. One of the two who were seriously injured in the collision was airlifted to Edmonton via STARS air amulance service.
The names of those involved are not yet being released as police are still working to notify next of kin.
Highway 881 and other roads in the area remain shrouded in a heavy fog.
