LAC LA BICHE – The community spirit was alive and well at the 2025 edition of the Lac La Biche Pow Wow and Fish Derby parade, which took place on Aug. 1.
A large crowd lined both sides of Lac La Biche’s 101 Avenue (Main Street) to watch the spectacle, which featured dozens of floats representing various community organizations and businesses.
The parade was marshalled by members of the Lac La Biche Kinsmen club, who, according to Hazel Costa, a director with the Lac La Biche Pow Wow Days and Fish Derby Association, helped organize floats and were on hand to maintain safety along the route.
Due to ongoing construction on the block of Main Street from 101 Street and 100 Street, as well as along Churchill Drive in front of the McGrane Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion, the Pow Wow Days parade had a different route this year.
The procession started at 104 Street next to the Light of Christ Catholic School before moving towards 101 Ave. At the 101 Street intersection, the floats took a left turn and exited to 102 Avenue between Canada Post and AG Foods.
