RCMP report finding two stolen vehicles and a wanted man

A man from the Lac La Biche area facing 16 criminal charges has been arrested and held in custody until his court hearing at the end of February.

A man from the Lac La Biche area facing 16 criminal charges has been arrested and held in custody until his court hearing at the end of February.

According to a February 14 news released, Lac La Biche RCMP say an investigation into a stolen vehicle on February 11 led them to a residential property in the Beaver Lake Cree Nation. While at the location, a second vehicle that was suspected to have been stolen was also located. Using a search warrant, police entered a home at the same property and found a man they say was wanted on 16 outstanding warrants, most relating to weapons offences.

Keenan Cardinal, 21, from Beaver Lake Cree Nation will be in Lac La Biche Provincial Court on February 27 facing charges of reckless discharge of a firearm, pointing a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, careless use of a firearm, two counts of possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, two counts of assault with a weapon, robbery, carrying a concealed weapon, possessing break-in tools and five counts of failing to comply with court orders.

As these matters are now before the courts, no further updates or details surrounding the incident will be provided by the RCMP.
