Lac La Biche, Athabasca and Fort McMurray RCMP are expected to release more details on an arrest this afternoon of suspects believed to have been involved in a crime spree stretching from Athabasca to Conklin.

Although not confirmed, it is believed at least two people were involved in the theft of a F350, followed by a gas and dash in the Athabasca area. It is also believed that the stolen truck was involved in a collision with police vehicles during a pursuit from the Athabasca area early this morning. It was suspected the truck's occupants were also in possession of firearms and a substantial amount of ammunition.

By 10:30 a.m, RCMP in the Lac La Biche area were receiving reports that the occupants of a vehicle matching the same truck were involved an apparent theft from a vehicle at a rest area along the K Road north of Lac La Biche.

Lac La Biche RCMP converged to the area, and after several witness reports about the truck, they chased the vehicle up Highway 881 towards Conklin where RCMP from the Fort McMurray area were waiting.

Police are saying tonight that suspects were arrested.
More details are expected soon.
