LAC LA BICHE - The Lac La Biche District Chamber of Commerce will be hosting its second annual Spring Trade Show on May 3 and 4 at the Bold Centre.
According to River McDonald, executive director of the Lac La Biche District Chamber of Commerce, the purpose of the event is to highlight storefront and small home-based businesses.
Last year’s inaugural event featured only a trade show, but this year the Chamber of Commerce decided to host a market to go along with it.
“We have artisan goods of all varieties registered to attend our market currently, and in our trade show we have everything from home services to vehicles and outdoor goods,” McDonald told Lakeland This Week.
In addition to the trade show and market, the two-day event will also offer a festival of food where people have the opportunity to taste the cuisine of different cultures.
“We will have foods from different community groups and restaurants showcased,” she said.
The Lac La Biche and District Chamber of Commerce is expecting about 60 vendors. Many of the vendors registered are from the Lac La Biche/Lakeland Region.
“We find this event important to the community to give businesses a space to showcase their services and goods where they may have a hard time getting out to the public otherwise,” she said.
