If you got it, show it off.
Shine it up first — so it’s perfect for the Show and Shine vehicle display hosted by Lac La Biche’s Ethos Mechanical on Summer Days Saturday.
From noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, the parking lot at Aurora Middle School will shine with gleaming grills, sparkling spokes, and magnificent motors.
Kari Ambanoudis from Ethos says the company has hosted the event for the last couple of years, each event draws more vehicles and more crowds.
“We’re expecting to have everything from the classic muscle cars to motorcycles and we’ve already got two semi-trucks registered,” she tells the Lac La Biche POST newsroom.
Registration for the event will stay open until just a few days before the Lac La Biche Summer Days weekend of events begins.
“We’ll have categories and prizes for the best cars,” she said, explaining that a “visitors’ choice” winner will also be selected from ballots collected over the afternoon.
Win or lose, she said it’s just nice to see the vehicles. It’s also a great chance for people to visit and chat about vehicles.
Organizing a show and shine as a mom of four boys who prefer vehicles that dig in the mud, Ambanoudis appreciates the efforts that go into keeping things clean.
“It’s so nice to walk around and see all the classics that are around here and how proud the owners are,” she said.
In order to keep all the entries in great shape, the Summer Days Show and Shine will have lots of space for each entry.
“There’s more than 30 parking spots, and we can expand into other areas too, so it’s a big, comfortable space for visitors and the people who register, with no risk of these beautiful classics getting dinged up.”
The Ethos gang is encouraging anyone interested in shining and showing their vehicle to contact Ambanoudis at the office by phone or email. The Ethos number is 780 798-2691. Contact by email is at [email protected]
