LAC LA BICHE - It was a particularly sweet affair for those who attended the bake auction at the Lac La Biche Seniors Centre last Saturday. The event was the icing on the cake to Alberta Seniors Week.
Following a BBQ and time for friendship and laughs, the auction got underway. Auctioneer Blake Nashim was all business as he stirred up bids for the public sale of nearly 60 pies, cakes, and all manner of homemade treats which were generously donated by local ladies.
One by one, the sweets were sold off as the bidding increased, with all money raised going to the Lac La Biche Heritage Center and local charities. The afternoon of events also included a ticket raffle to win a planter sponsored by the Lac La Biche Heritage Centre.
