Think Pink. Wear Pink.
The Lac La Biche Canadian Native Friendship Centre, the Lac La Biche Pride Committee and A-1 Fitness in Lac La Biche want residents to brighten up the downtown with an awareness campaign towards tolerance.
Between 10 am and 2 pm, community members - dressed in pink shirts, of course - are invited to go to A1-Fitness on Main Street to write an encouraging message on a specially-created Pink Wall.
Erin Thomas with the friendship centre says the February 22 Pink Shirt campaign is intended to send a message that the community is a great place to live for all people.
“We are encouraging people to wear a pink shirt tomorrow,” said Thomas, “ and show their support.”
The A1-Fitness office is located on Main Street just east of the 102 Street intersection.
Pink Shirt Day takes place in communities across Canada on February 22 to bring awareness to bullying and tolerance.
