UPDATE: RCMP investigating Owl River homicide

A man has been charged with second degree as RCMP continue to investigate a homicide near Owl River. Police were called to investigate a "suspicious occurrence" at 8 a.m.

A man has been charged with second degree as RCMP continue to investigate a homicide near Owl River.

Police were called to investigate a "suspicious occurrence" at 8 a.m. Friday near the hamlet, where they found what were suspected to be human remains.

Trevor Bobocel, 38 years old of Wandering River, Alberta is charged with second degree murder and indignity to the body of his common-law, Roxanne Bigelow, 34 years old from Wandering River, Alberta. It is believed that the remains located by police are those of Roxanne Bigelow, however positive identification is still pending through the investigation and the autopsy which will occur next week, stated RCMP officials.

Bobocel has been remanded in custody and is set to appear in Lac La Biche Provincial Court on March 14, 2011 at 10:00 am.
