UPDATE: Warrant remains for 22-year-old Lac La Biche man in recent shooting death

UPDATE RCMP continue to search for accused murder suspect. First degree murder ccharge laid against Lac La Biche man in teh shooting death of Michael Mountain in October

Alberta RCMP have told the Lac La Biche POST they are continuing their search for a 22-year-old Lac La Biche-area man in connection with the October 28 shooting death of Michael Mountain.

RCMP K Division spokesperson Sgt. Marlene Brown told the POST on Monday that the investigation is continuing and the search for Lloyd Wesley Boudreau. Post staff contacted RCMP officials looking for an update on the investigation. The last media update from the RCMP came on November 7 with the initial news release that first degree murder charges had been laid.

While there is no new information to release to the public in connection with the investigation, Brown did say that police are continuing to gather information and statements and are following up on their investigation. She also pointed out that in many cases like this, social media commentery by community members can sometimes 'stir the pot' when it comes to facts. She urged the public to wait for official police information rather than following opinions on social media sites.
The POST will have follow up information and details from the RCMP when that information is made available.

Charges have been laid and an arrest warrant issued in relation to the murder of Michael Mountain which occurred on October 28th in Lac La Biche.
In consultation with the St. Paul Crown Prosecutors office, 22-year-old Lloyd Wesley Boudreau of Lac La Biche has been charged with the first degree murder of Michael Mountain. A warrant in the first instance has been issued for the arrest of Lloyd Boudreau. Investigators do not know where Lloyd Boudreau may be at this time and consider him to be armed and dangerous. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged not to approach him but to immediately contact the Lac La Biche RCMP at (780) 623-4380 or their local police service.

  • Tattoos on neck and right side of face
The RCMP Major Crimes Unit Major Crimes North with the assistance of the Lac La Biche and Boyle RCMP Detachments, Lloydminster Forensic Identification Section and K Division Special Tactical Operations (STO) are conducting three simultaneous searches for evidence. These scheduled searches are part of ongoing efforts to locate additional evidence, not for the arrest of Boudreau and do not pose a risk to public safety.
